R.E.M. Discography!!!!
R.E.M. released their first album around 1978. It was released on tape and never really made it big. They would "tour" in their hometown of Athens, Georgia at local bars. One was called the 40 watt because it was lit with a single light bulb in the center of the room.
R.E.M."s second album consisted of their first major hit - Radio Free Europe. They were featrured on American Banstand and beat a wanna-be rock star named Micheal Bolton. Ya, like that was hard to do. Their song became a hit and yet they were still living in a beat-up van in which they stored their instruments. They would live out of this van and go on to make their third album.
They traveled to England to make their third album. They were starting to regret it the moment they got there. It was extremely cold and the recording studio was really far from their hotel. Everything was bad. They weathered the storm and finished Reckoning.
